Women & Print
In 2020 Campus District teamed up with Cleveland Print Room and Zygote Press to offer Women & Print, a neighborhood arts and community building program. The ten-week program began at Cleveland Print Room where a class of ten women learned the basics of darkroom photography and was planned to continue at Zygote Press where they would use those photographs to learn a print technique called photogravure. Throughout the sessions, the cohort explored expressions of womanhood in their lives and community. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program was discontinued at the mid-way point. Our hope is to continue when we can all gather together again.
The goals of the program are:
To introduce Campus District community members to two, wonderful neighborhood assets: Cleveland Print Room and Zygote Press
To create a space that elevates women and their creative process
To explore expressions of womanhood in our lives and community through group conversation and creation
