Mask the District
Help ‘Mask the District’, an initiative to give face masks to all individuals experiencing homelessness in the Campus District! This is a joint project between Campus District and Across the Lines Art Studio to keep individuals experiencing homelessness safe.
We accept all mask donations and if you are looking for a no-sew method check out the method below that transforms an old t-shirt into a face mask! Need old t-shirts? We’ve got you covered just reach out to Morgan or Jane (listed below).
To execute social distancing guidelines, please contact Morgan Clark (mclark@campusdistrict.org) or Jane Finley (AcrossthelinesCle@gmail.com) for pickup of any and all donations.
T-shirt to Face Mask, Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Lay out a t-shirt on a flat surface
Step 2: Using your hand as a guide, trace cutouts to the left and right that give enough room under your hand in the middle to cover your face.
Step 3: Cut along the trace marks
Step 4: Leave at least a half inch above the mask to divide the bottom half of the t-shirt from the top
Step 5: Secure the two t-shirt layers by individually tying all four corners together
Step 6: Cut ONE side of the strings as close to the knot as possible. This will allow for one string on either side to be long enough to fit around the entire head
