Project Details
Beginning in February of 2018, Campus District Inc. started working with Tarra Petras, Public Art Project Coordinator at the City of Cleveland, and Cleveland Public Power on the appropriate guidelines for painting CPP poles in the Superior Arts District. From May 1st to June 12th, Campus District and Across the Lines Studio held pole design sessions open to the community. In those sessions we prompted neighborhood members to develop designs that represent their visions for the future of our community. We instructed participants to represent that vision using color blocking and geometric shapes. We felt that these guidelines allowed for variation in design but maintained a cohesive theme and look. During the summer of 2019, community members painted the poles on East 18th-East 21 Streets. Campus District will complete this project over three summers.
