A Bridge that Bridges

A Community Building and Mural Project

 April 3rd– July 24th

The  Bridge that Bridges community conversation and mural project is starting its 3rd year! Since 2016, two groups of community members of have come together to discuss racism in our city and society. Together, with the help of over 75 volunteers, messages of hope and unity are now painted along the East 22nd Street Bridge and most of  the Cedar Avenue Bridge over I-90. The 2018 group will complete the last part of the Cedar Bridge with their depictions of an equitable and connected Cleveland over a 10 week session that will meet on Tuesdays between April 3 and July 24th.

The Bridge that Bridges is a three-month experience in which a diverse group of 15 residents and stakeholders from the Campus District – Cedar-Central neighborhood meet to engage in intentional conversation about race while designing a community mural depicting their vision of a unified neighborhood.  The group will then paint the mural on the Cedar Ave bridge separating.
