Young Sprouts Now Delivering Lunch Downtown!

Interested in a personal delivery of sushi, penne pasta with roasted pepper sauce, curried sweet potato cream soup, or grilled chicken on focaccia? Check out Young Sprout Foods, located in the Campus District at the Culinary Launch Kitchen!

Young Sprout Foods, operating out of the Cleveland Culinary Launch and Kitchen on Euclid in the Campus District, is now providing a lunch delivery option to Downtown’s employees. The operation began as Sarah Downes, a former Juvenile Detention Center counselor, continually talked to her many young clients about their career aspirations in the food service industry. Often times, though they had aspirations for employment, finding a job with a criminal background was difficult.

Sarah saw this gap, and began investigating how she could help provide jobs for veterans, those with criminal backgrounds, and children aging out of foster care, among others. To Sarah, gaining employment is an essential starting block, and also gives these individuals a great sense of accomplishment in being able to provide for themselves. She also saw the need to create accessible and affordable health options for Downtown’s employees.

From here, Young Sprouts was born. Young Sprouts runs a bike delivery service for fresh and healthy lunch options. Orders are placed on the Young Sprouts website for anywhere from 1 to 100 people, perfect for an individual, small lunch meetings, or larger board meetings and employee gatherings. Just select the meal you want from their menu, indicate the building you work in and any necessary directions to find you, and make your payment. All meals, including the delivery charge, are $10 or less. For those interested in being eco-friendly, Sarah touts their bike delivery system and their compostable packaging.

Their menu is always rotating, but during their visit to Campus District, Inc., Young Sprouts brought their curried sweet potato cream soup; romaine wedge salad with pickled carrots, roasted red onions, diced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, shaved fennel, and herb vinaigrette; and vegetable roll sushi with cucumbers, scallions, peppers, carrot threads, pickled ginger, and seaweed.

Currently, Young Sprouts is only delivering to Downtown and the Campus District, although growth to other urban neighborhoods is certainly possible as support grows. For more information visit their website below or email Sarah at youngsproutsfood@gmail.com.
