Thousands Attend Inaugural Night Market in the Campus District! 3 More to Come!
Thousands of Clevelanders poured onto Rockwell Ave. in the Campus District on Friday, June 26th for the first ever Night Market Cleveland. Visitors were met with live performances, artisans and delicious Asian food.
Night Market Cleveland's tag line promoted the event to be "Authentically Asian and uniquely Cleveland," and it delivered. Attendees could sample everything from grilled squid and steamed buns to bubble tea and General Tso chicken. You could also see many of your favorite vendors will original Cleveland art and swag. The ornate Emperor's Palace Chinese food restaurant- one of the few remaining buildings from Cleveland's original Chinatown- set a beautiful backdrop to evening. As the sun set the street lit up and with a perfect view of downtown in the distance.
Night Market Cleveland is a collaboration between St. Clair-Superior Development Corporation and Campus District, Inc. St. Clair-Superior received grants from the Gund Foundation, the Cleveland Foundation and Eaton Foundation to bring together Asian vendors and Superior Arts District artists and stakeholders for a unique summer event. Small Organization Solutions was hired to lay the groundwork for a summer of successful Night Markets. The goal is to give Cleveland an opportunity to connect with the distinctive culture, community and creativity of Asiatown and the Superior Arts District.
Night Markets will continue on the last Friday of the month in July, August and September from 5-11 PM on Rockwell Ave at East 21 Street. Will we see you there? Check the dates here: http://www.nightmarketcle.com/
