Michelle Brzoska – Campus District Economic Opportunity Coordinator
Michelle Brzoska has recently joined Campus District, Inc. as its Economic Opportunity Coordinator through AmeriCorps-VISTA. During her year of service, Michelle will work with anchor institutions to develop a job linkage program between Cleveland State University, Cuyahoga Community College, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, and Central Choice Neighborhood residents in CMHA housing. The three anchor institutions made a commitment to local hiring through the Central Choice Neighborhood planning process.
Michelle will also work with stakeholders and development advisors on a development plan for East 22nd Street from Carnegie south to Woodland Avenue, which is undergoing a $4.2 million infrastructure transformation and work on advocacy and communications for the Campus District including as the new e-news editor.
Michelle, a native of Rocky River, recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with her Master’s in Community Planning, focusing on housing and community development. She has experience working with a variety of community organizations, both in Cincinnati and in Cleveland, and is excited about being able to finally return home and learn even more about community development. In her spare time she enjoys riding her bike, eating delicious food, coaching tee ball through Near West Recreation League, and trying as hard as she can to keep the plants in her garden alive. She is grateful for the opportunity to spend time enjoying her hometown and working in the Campus District.
