This past week, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority Board approved a contract to build a new E. 34th Street Rapid Transit Station at a cost of $6 million. The City of Cleveland’s representative to the Board,  Valarie McCall shared the following on this major step: “The renovation of the E. 34th Street RTA Train Station is a great example of real community partnership and engagement.  Having the leadership of Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland, along with Campus District, Cuyahoga Community College, Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, and the Cleveland Planning Commission all working together with GCRTA to take an underutilized station and renovate it in a way that the community wanted, in a safe and secure manner, is a true testament to the power of collaboration.  This is great for RTA, but even better for the people of Cleveland.”
