July Night Market a Hit! Two More to Come!
The second monthly Night Market on Friday, July 31st was a major success, once again delivering on its mission to be “Authentically Asian and uniquely Cleveland”. The ornate Emperor’s Palace Chinese food restaurant- one of the few remaining buildings from Cleveland’s original Chinatown- set a beautiful backdrop to evening. As the sun set the street lit up and with a perfect view of downtown in the distance.
The number of attendees and vendors nearly doubled from the first Night Market, attracting thousands of Clevelanders and even our own Critical Mass, which ended their July ride at the event. An estimated 10,000 people came to the event over the course of the night! Performances included DJ Alexicon, Cold Heat Family Band, Lowly The Tree Ghost, and Johnny La Rock & Furface, with pop-up performances from Fire and Light Performing Arts and Parade the Circle. Attendees could taste everything from combos featuring a variety of traditional asian specialties, to smaller dim sum and potsticker samplings, and bahn mi sandwiches and grilled kabobs. “We’re happy to help” says Shirley Stineman of Northeast Ohio Media Group, “it was a really fun night for our community!” NEOMG has continually been extremely supportive of the Campus District and Night Market.
