Community leaders and officials of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) broke ground this past week on a new Campus Station, redesigning and revitalizing the current station at East 34th St. and Broadway Avenue. GCRTA CEO Joe Calabrese thanked his team for their work on the project. Bobbi Reichtell, Executive Director of Campus District, Inc and Michael Schoop, Tri-C Metro Campus President thanked GCRTA for their investment in the future of transit for the Campus District and the city. The redesign of the station makes it more accessible, visible and attractive to the neighborhood with an focus on inclusion, featuring an ADA-compliant extended ramp along the hillside to connect pedestrians to the station below. The $7.5 million project is expected to be complete by late 2018 and will be constructed by the Panzica Construction Co. of Mayfield Village.
