CLE Housing Hackathon Competition!

The Campus District on April 21, 2017 - 10:47 am in Features, Learn, Live

On April 7th, ten teams worked for 24 hours at the 2017 CLE Housing Hackathon, building websites and applications aimed at providing innovative solutions to housing issues here in Northeast Ohio. The team “Housing CWRU,” led by Professor Soumya Ray, won Best Overall prize — earning $2,000 towards further building their application. The application will identify neighborhoods in Cleveland by public transit options, school systems, wellness, and connectivity, and will ease the process of finding available properties within these communities that accept housing vouchers.
