Campus District to See Renovations of Three Historic Buildings in 2017 !

Three historic buildings in the Campus District will start renovation in 2017. On Superior Avenue, 2121 Superior and 2125 Superior both received state and federal historic tax credits and will undergo major renovation and a restoration of the original facades. 2121 Superior will become the new headquarters of the building’s owner Global X on the upper floors and the Daffy Dan T-Shirt shop will remain on the ground floor. Plans are underway for the 2125 Superior building to have a residential use. Both buildings at one point were part of Cleveland’s thriving garment district on Superior Avenue.
Heading south, at 1937 Prospect Avenue, in the former City Blue building, the Woda Group from Columbus is developing 42 apartments that will be the first affordable units built downtown since the National Terminal project was done in the Warehouse District. There will be 26 one bedroom apartments, 16 two bedroom apartments and 37 indoor parking spaces.
Additionally, in the near future the City of Cleveland will be offering the historic police station on Payne Avenue for redevelopment and a redevelopment is expected of the Norton Furniture Building, also on Payne, once the pending sale is completed.
